Good morning, it is 5am on Wednesday morning January 4th...and for no particular reason Meritt and I have both been wide awake since around 4am. We get to meet Mary Henley today!
We spent the day yesterday adjusting to the time change (which we obviously have yet to complete) and walking through a local shopping Mall that is just down the street. It will likely be our hangout once Mary Henley is with us as it is way to cold to play outside, and even if it were warm...if you manage to avoid being run over by the crazy drivers (motorcycles and cars), it is very likely you would be overwhelmed by the air pollution.
We did attract quite a bit of attention at the Mall yesterday (Meritt primarily due to her towering height) as most wanted to practice their English on us, which actually was very good. We on the other hand practiced our pointing...Meritt was able to successfully order fries and a coke at the McDonalds in the Mall.
Jane our local guide will be here to pick us up around 9:15am, and we will be off to meet Mary Henley!

you've been awake since 4am "for no particular reason?" that's kind of funny you two. i can think of one (actually two) reasons why you might already be up. oh my! we are all just waiting on pins and needles back here at home. rick and i have been praying for you both nonstop today...and praying, praying, praying for little MH. it is going to be so wonderful -- we are jealous and proud and thrilled and excited and eager and beyond happy for you. can't wait to see MH in your arms. i wrote a little bit about your story in my own blog this morning. read if you are pacing the room and need something to do.
